We recommend and supply 20lb (9kg) aluminium food grade CO2 Cylinders with the Ultra trap. We don't recommend using industrial grade steel CO2Cylinders as they may contain steel filings which can block the CO2 gas release mechanism in the Ultra trap.

While Mega-Catch™ Traps need no Carbon Dioxide (CO2) to attract mosquitoes, operation of the patented ‘Variable Quantity Slow CO2 Gas Release System’ will boost capture rates. It enables the Traps to replicate a key feature of human/animal respiration by releasing or 'exhaling' variable amounts of CO2 into the air plume emanating from the base of the trap.
Use of this system is entirely optional but if you are battling a challenging mosquito problem we strongly recommend that you operate your Ultra Trap with CO2 as this can increase the coverage area (up from 1 acre to 1.5 acres) and capture rates by as much as 300-400%.
